Born in Indiana
Resided in Salinas, CA
She was born in Indiana, attending schools in Indianapolis where she was very active in school functions: receiving the Citizenship Medal for the four years of High School. She then attended both Butler and Indiana Universities, and was graduated from Indiana Business College.
She and her sister Maxine (who predeceased her) accompanied their grandparents who spent their winters in Florida. She liked Tampa, and was offered employment by an attorney for who she worked eight years. Being socially active, she joined Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the Administrative Professional Assn. where she became an officer of both sororities. She then changed employment to work for U.S. Railroad Retirement Board where she worked for seven years. She was appointed by the Governor of Florida to work for the U.S. Air Attache in the American Embassy in London, England where she worked for six years before meeting her late husband John, who she married in London. They honeymooned in Austria, before they traveled extensively for one month through European and Scandinavian countries before returning to the United States.
John returned to work with AT&T while Polly worked for the Social Security Administration both in Salinas. She enjoyed dancing, flowers, sewing, and needlework.
She is survived by a step-daughter and a step-granddaughter.
