November 26, 1956 - January 29, 2019
Born in Long Beach, California
Resided in Salinas, California
If you were lucky enough to know Vince, you know that he was humorous, resourceful, always willing to help, and could tell you the “best way” to do just about anything. He was mechanically minded, a very hard worker and loved spending time on projects; from building a house, restoring and repairing cars, to building motorcycles—his biggest passion! A perfect day for him was a relaxing motorcycle ride on a beautiful road with friends, followed by an “ice-cold beer” & steak dinner.
Vince was born in Long Beach to Paul and Rosemary ‘Mickey’ Farrell and raised in Salinas. He graduated from North Salinas High School in 1974, and then attended Hartnell and Columbia community colleges. He primarily worked in the agricultural industry throughout his career, working with Grower’s Ice Co. for 22 years until his retirement.
Most recently he lived with his life partner Delaina Dickison, of 10 years, in Prunedale where they enjoyed working on their land, cultivating a garden, caring for their pets and soaking up nature from their front deck in the sun.
His daughter and son-in-law, Casey & John Carey, welcomed their first child, Rainier, in 2018. Grandpa Farrell loved his visits with his grandson and often laughed about how fast Rainier has been growing—healthy babies are common in the Farrell clan!
Brother of Tim, Andy, Chris, Mike and Dan. Nephew of Lillian McKiben. Further survived by 17 nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Vince will take place at Noon on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at The American Legion, Post 593, in Prunedale, 8300 Prunedale North Road, Prunedale, CA. 93907
