Our beloved Tena passed away January 26, 2020 at Westland House in Monterey, CA. after a courageous battle with Cancer. Tena was born in San Francisco CA and came home to a family that loved and adored her from the first moment they held her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Margaret and Eldon Kenville, father Charles and brothers David and Bruce.

Tena graduated from Salinas Union High School, Hartnell College and continued her education at the University of Nevada. She worked for the County of Monterey Agricultural Extension for 5 years and then decided to move to Reno, NV to be near her extended family. Tena was employed with the State of Nevada and retired after 30 years of service. She enjoyed singing with her Church Choir and volunteering at the dog rescue center in Reno.
In 2015 she moved back to Salinas and after a year of retirement she decided to go back to the work she loved for the County of Monterey in the Auditors office.
Tena's love and support for all her family and friends was expressed with giving of her time and caretaking many family members. At family gatherings you could always find her nieces and nephews gathered around her for love, stories and games.

Tena is survived by her mother, Beverly Geren, sister, Cynthia Doubek, brother, Ron Geren (Nancy) and many nieces and nephews and cousins. The year she was recovering after two surgeries and enduring chemotherapy she always had a positive outlook and a smile on her face. She was at peace knowing she would spend eternity with her Heavenly Father. We are all grateful for the prayers and many friends and family near and far that spent time with her at home and the hospitals and the beautiful flowers and gifts.

We want to thank all her doctors and staff, Carmel Community Hospital, Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, Westland House and Sutter Home Health for their excellent and compassionate care.
