Born in Brigham City, Utah
Resided in Salinas, California
Sam considered himself a California native although he was born in Brigham City, Utah and moved to Salinas, California as an infant.
He was a graduate of Salinas High School, proudly served his country in the USCG and graduated Hartnell College on the GI bill. Sam worked at Pacific Bell for 43 years at the same office on Pajaro Street in Salinas.
Those who knew Sam know he was always VERY early to every event, cheered the loudest at sports games and recitals, and bragged the most about his girls. He enjoyed bike rides and time spent at the range with his “son” Cory. Sam also loved adventures in Reno and a chance to win big!
Sam served his community by participating in BPOE #614, Swiss Rifle Club, American Legion Post #31, ICF, Eucharistic Minister at Madonna Del Sasso Parish, and member of the MDS Finance Council.
He loved and leaves behind: Barbara, wife of 47 years, daughter, Nicoline Yoder (Cory), granddaughters, Olivia and Katie, and his loyal 90# lap dog, Jessie. Sister, Margaret Mosher (Wayne), their children, K. C. Moore, David Mosher and their families.
Additional surviving family is his niece, Renee Forrest (Michael Soto), nephews, Joshua Forrest and Christopher Hiserman (Sarah), and their families. Including numerous cousins and relatives in the Brigham City, Utah area.
The family wishes to thank extended family, friends, and caregivers at Pacific Coast Acute Rehab and SVMH for their care, love, and support during his brief, difficult health journey.
