He was born October 24th, 1932, in Tupelo, AK. He served in the 666th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron at Hamilton Field from 1950 – 1954.
He and Mary Frances Byrd, the love of his life, were married July 1st, 1952, in Clovis CA. 30 Years of Bob’s professional life was spent in the banking industry, before retiring in Salinas, CA. In 1988 he took a part-time position at The Home Lighter, Inc., in Pacific Grove, CA, assisting in all aspects of accounting.
He was survived by his wife of 54 years Mary Frances Montgomery; children, Sharon Collins, Tammy and son-in-law, Greg Culver of Salinas CA, Robin and son-in-law, Gary Westmoreland of Hanford CA; grandchildren, Heather and husband Lance Foreman, of Janesville, CA, Hillary Byrne of Sand City, CA, Eric Culver of Salinas, CA, Brieann and husband Jesse Martinez of Salinas, CA, Robert Westmoreland, and Ben Westmoreland both of Hanford, CA; and 3 great-grandchildren, Sabrina Foreman, Alyssa Valdez and Audrianna Martinez.
Memorial Services will be held at 1pm, Saturday, June 9th, 2007 at Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel, 41 West San Luis Street, Salinas, CA.
