It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He left us on October 11, 2018, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.

Pete is survived by his wife Cathy, son Paul (Genieva), granddaughters Brianna and Ashley, great granddaughter Scarlett, mother Carmen, brothers Eddie (Mary), David (Diana), Ivan, sister Luby (Jose Luis), plus numerous family members. "Puerto Rican Pete," as he was known by many, shared his love and joy with everyone he encountered. His positive outlook and caring nature were contagious.

He loved family, friends, America, Williamsburg/Brooklyn, Puerto Rico, the US military (Go Army), and good food! Hailing originally from Brooklyn, NY, he enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 19. His service took him to Germany, then Fort Ord, California, where he met his soul mate, Cathy, whom he married. After a 3 year tour of duty in Panama, they settled in Gonzales, California, in 1986.

Pete was an active member in the Gonzales Community. He served his community with the belief that everyone should feel loved, and inside each individual was the potential for greatness. This belief was evident from his coaching little league, to teaching catechism, and his acolyte services at St. Theodore's Church. For enjoyment, Pete loved to spend time with family and friends, going to Monterey and enjoying the fresh ocean breeze while listening to the calming sound of the waves. He loved going to the movies, listening and dancing to salsa, holiday gatherings, making phone calls to check in, and enjoying the love shared between himself and his wife of 39 years; whom he often referred to as his "rock and angel!" Pete's message would be to love each other endlessly, enjoy every moment you can, but most importantly, pray and never lose faith in the Lord. The entire family, which spans two coasts, would like to thank you for your years of love, support, and prayers. Pete fought a great battle! He was a man amongst men, and was everything he didn't have to be. He is irreplaceable and will forever be missed while never being forgotten.
