Obituary

Patricia Annette Rodgers 81 passed away peacefully on January 3, 2018, surrounded by the love of her husband and children.
Patricia was born February 17, 1936 in Monterey, CA to Joseph and Mary Teresa. As a child, her family of 9 moved to Salinas during World War II, and from there she became a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Salinas High School, class of 1954, where she meet her husband Richard Rodgers. A proud Salinas High School alum, she found great joy in planning countless class reunions and reconnecting with friends. Patricia was known by all as the go-to person to organize family reunions, Christmas parties, and get-togethers; she was the one who ensured that all family and friends stayed connected and celebrated life.
During the '70s and '80s, Patricia and her husband were proud owners of the Schwinn Cycle Center on Market Street. An active member of the Salinas Antique Car Club, she spent many weekends touring and traveling with friends in their antique cars. Because of her Italian heritage, family always came first, and Auntie Pat (as she was known to her large extended family) was always there to provide support and care for others. As a proud mother and grandmother, no one could surpass the love she gave to her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Sharon, granddaughter Bella Dakis and son Joseph.
Patricia is survived by her husband Richard, son Frank and daughter-in-law Mindy, and daughter Susan Dakis. Along with her grandchildren Ashley (Seattle, WA), Jeremy (Louisville, KY), Whitney (Petaluma, CA) and great-grandchild Angelo.
She always shined bright and, even in her passing, her light will never dim.
Visitation will be 3:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Struve and Laporte Chapel,
