Obituary

Kimberly Metcalf Dozier passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 23, 2018 due to natural causes. “Kim” was born in Wichita, KS on March 23, 1959. Her family relocated to Salinas in 1972 where she attended San Benancio Middle and Salinas High Schools. She graduated in 1977 and worked for the Monterey County Recorders Office for 20+ years. Currently she was employed by Peninsula Messenger Service.
Kim was an avid sports and rodeo fan. She was passionate about her San Francisco Giants and Forty-Niners. She was crazy about fresh cut flowers, dancing to country and western music with her husband of 32 years, and most of all her children. She was the beloved “Coach’s Wife” and as her own children grew, she dedicated herself to supporting their own love of and participation in sports. It was through these years as a “team mom” and her loving nature that she became known to so many kids as “Everybody’s Mom.”
She is survived by her husband, Michael Dozier, son, Travis (Jessica), daughter, Kristy (Zeek Zavala) and granddaughter, Riley Ann Zavala. She is also survived by her parents Gary and Nancy Metcalf of Pagosa Springs, CO/Wickenburg, AZ, her sister, Tracy Swartz (Jerry Phillips) of Durango, CO, and brother, Michael Metcalf of Telluride, CO, loving in-laws, several nephews and a host of long-time friends. She will be greatly missed.
