Joan Margret Eich, Who lived the majority of her life with her husband Thomas “John" Eich in Monterey County, CA passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the age of 78 years in Hollister, where she has lived her last 11 years.

Joan was born May 2, 1941 in Worthington Minnesota. She graduated Brewster High School in 1959. She was a graduate of Minneapolis Business College. Married John on April 28, 1967. She loved to volunteer at the Food Pantry & help others. She worked as an IT and in accounts /bookkeeping with the Monterey Herald newspaper for 30+ years.

Joan enjoyed having family and friends visit her and loved to give them a tour or two of our magnificent scenery. She enjoyed her special days out or vacation with family and friends and always came home with a smile and wonderful stories to tell. Her joy would last for days.

On a Sunday morning you could find Joan reading her newspaper & her grand kitty Duchess, both enjoying the warm sunshine through the windows. She also enjoyed watching Viking football games & NASCAR.

Joan loved the holidays and watching the kids decorate their gingerbread houses & our road trips looking at Christmas lights. Especially the house with lights dancing to the music. Oh, and of course group picture with Santa Clause. You could find Joan making Christmas cards & letters, her Russian tea cookies or her famous cheesecake, banana bread and delicious butterscotch chocolate bars. She enjoyed the comments & smiles that came with every bite.
