She was born on Nov. 29, 1914, in Jalisco, Mexico. She was raised in Madera, and resided in Castroville and Watsonville.
Jessie, along with her husband, Modesto Castillo, were self-employed in farming for 8 years in Castroville and Pajaro. She also worked at the California Artichoke for 20 years in Castroville.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Siaz; and second husband, Modesto Castillo; brothers, Johnny Perez and Mike Perez; sister, Esther Cortez, and granddaughter, Lisa Rivas.
Memberships: She was a member of Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Castroville and St. Patrick’s Church in Watsonville.
Children, Raynaldo (Eloisa) Siaz of Prunedale; Francis (Bernardo) Ibarra of Watsonville; Lupe Gil of Aptos; Carmen Rivas of Castroville, and Richard Castillo of Sacramento;
13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren,
eight sisters, five brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vigil: 6 p.m. Monday, May 21, at the Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 West San Luis St., Salinas.
Graveside Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Watsonville Catholic Cemetery, 1456 Freedom Blvd., Watsonville.
