Obituary

Jane Albery Vallejo, a long-time resident of the Salinas area died Thursday, June 1st at her ranch home, just 3 months after her husband Louis passed away.
Born in 1930 in Salinas, Jane graduated from Salinas High School’s class of 1948. After she raised her family she attended Hartnell College and received her RN degree.
She worked at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and later as a private duty nurse. She was one of the founding owners of The Post Box which has been in business for over 30 years. She enjoyed hunting with her husband and living the ranch life. Her hobbies included genealogy, sewing and making baby quilts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid reader and most recently authored a book published under the title An Arrangement using her pen name J.A. Valle.
Jane took pride in her Quaker ancestry and was a longtime member of the Santa Lucia Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Monterey Bay Colony Mayflower Society. Jane was an active member of the DAR serving as Regent, Registrar and various other offices and committees throughout her 47 year membership. She enjoyed hosting the DAR meeting in the spring when the wildflowers were in bloom. She prided herself in playing the Star Spangled Banner on her antique pump organ.
Jane enjoyed her large family gatherings for holidays, weddings and birthdays. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Vallejo Robison (Walt), sons, Louis Vallejo Jr. (Denice), Ramon Vallejo (Cheryl), and Daniel Vallejo (Michele).
Grandchildren, Aaron Robison (Nicole), Sarah Robison Bentley (David), Elliot (Carrie), Zander (Carrie), Sebastian, Julia, Monroe, Danielle and Robert Vallejo.
Great grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob, Grayson, Sienna, Gage and Deakon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, July 30th at 1:30p.m., at The First Mayor’s House, 20 Station Place, Salinas, CA. 93901.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Santa Lucia Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution or the First Mayors House c/o 820 Park Row #400, Salinas 93901.
