Jack A. Briscoe, 74, of Salinas, after 6 years of struggling with cancer went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. He was born in Missoula Montana and lived in Salinas for the last 39 years.

Jack graduated from Arkansas Teacher's College in 1964 with a BS, in math. He loved to solve problems which lead him to an analyst job in 1964 at Vandenberg AFB. He became an early programmer in 1967 when he was hired at TRW, Redondo Beach. He taught himself scientific programming. In 1978 he moved to Salinas to work for BDM at Ft, Hunter Leggett. His job moved to Monterey in 1998 and following mergers he again worked for TRW and then eventually Northrop Grumman. He retired from Northrop in 2003 but continued on working with Northrop for 6 years doing contracting.

Jack was a member of First United Methodist Church and also attended Northminster Presbyterian Church. Jack loved golf and was a former member of the Men's Club. He also liked to volunteer and he worked on the Measure V Committee for the City of Salinas from 2005.

Jack was preceded by death by his parents Andy and Elsie Rae Briscoe.

He is survived by his wife, Lynne Sergius-Briscoe who describes Jack as the perfect husband who was humorous, generous and smart. He is also survived his beautiful stepchildren; Erin Wogan, David Redding, grandchildren; Makenna and Christian and sisters; Marge Gentle and Linda Baldwin.

A Celebration of life service will be at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 315 E. Alvin Drive, Salinas, held for both congregations on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 3:00p.m.

Memorial donations in Jack's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 945 S. Main St. #201, Salinas 93901.
