Frances Isabella Richards, age 92 of Salinas, California, passed away peacefully at Close to Home on March 4, 2018. Frances was born September 4, 1925 in Lindsay, California to George and Bertha Hauck.
Frances was a homemaker and a seamstress for Talbots Ties. She attended Watsonville High School until her education was interrupted by WWII but returned to Monterey High School and achieved her high school diploma in the late 60s. Frances met her future husband, Floyd, while working at Fort Ord, California in 1941. They married in Charleston, South Carolina on April 16, 1945. They briefly made their home in Georgia, before eventually returning to California and making their home in Seaside. In 1989 Frances moved to Palo Cedro and returned to Salinas in 2011 to live with her daughter Sharon and son-in-law Roger.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd E. Richards and her beloved brother Conrad Hauck.
She is survived by her sister, Georgia Yankin, son, Floyd (Mari )Richards of Morgan Hill; daughter, Dorothy (Chuck) Knight of Shingle Springs; and daughter, Sharon (Roger) Zardo of Salinas, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
Graveside services for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:30 at Mission Memorial Park, 1915 Ord Grove Ave. Seaside, California 93955.
The family would like to thank Close to Home, Lisa Musante, and the amazing caregivers, Jessica, Stacy, Narda, Paulina, Julisa, and Merly, and Salinas Hospice.
