Obituary

Donald “Don” Jacob Rossotti was born in Castroville, CA on May 7, 1942 to Domenico and Emily Rossotti. He passed away after a brief battle with cancer in Salinas, CA on June 26, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rena, sons Paul and Michael, grandchildren, Anthony and Giuliana, and sister Sandra Barnes.

Don farmed vegetables in the Salinas Valley for over fifty years. He started with artichokes alongside his father, later moving to row crops. Over the years he worked for Jim Fanoe, Associated Produce and retired in 2012 from Costa Farms.
Don was an active person who enjoyed working in his shop, gardening, and making stained glass. He was a man who could fix anything. One of his proudest moments was restoring his Model A truck and was a member of Grandpas Model A club.

He loved spending time with his family. Trips to the ranch, growing giant pumpkins for his grandkids and going on fishing and hunting trips were the highlights of his days. We will keep those memories in our hearts forever.

Don will always be remembered for his quiet demeanor, his big heart and how he always put other people first. Don will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A private service will be held for immediate family. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date. For information, please email contact information to donrossotti@gmail.com.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences to www.struveandlaporte.com.
