Born in Mt Ephraim, Ohio
Resided in Salinas, California
Abe was born in Mt Ephraim, Ohio on October 20th, 1931, and spent the first 21 years of his adult life serving in the US Air Force. Abe’s service in the armed forces took him to places halfway around the world on more than one occasion; first as a single GI, and second with his wife Sandy of 59 years and their four small children. Abe retired from the military in 1971, and spent the remaining 47 years of his life in Monterey County.
Abe was a Master Mason who served the Masonic Order for 42 years, as well as a member the Order of Eastern Star for 41 years. Abe proudly served as Worth Patron alongside his wife Sandy and two of his daughters in their service as Worthy Matrons in the Order of Eastern Star. He was a spirited and faithful patron of both orders, and truly enjoyed the fellowship and friendship that membership in both organizations brought to his life.
Forced into an orphanage at the age of 10, Abe developed a strong need for family, and what a family he got. Often joking that his wife forced him into marriage, Abe and Sandy’s marital union of 59 years lovingly formed a family of four children, nine grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. Abe loved and was loved in return by his family and community of friends. He will be deeply missed.
Abe is survived by his children: Teresa (Terry) Gentry, Cecil (Abe) Abrams Jr., Dorothy (Dori) Horn, and Robin Abrams, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Son-in-Laws: Bob Gentry and Troy Horn
Sister Edith and Brother Carlson
Sisters-in-law, Mickey, Jeanean, Toni, and Debbie and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sandy, their grandson, Adam II, and son-in-law, Pedro
