Obituary

Betty Swiekatowski, 86 of Salinas passed away Saturday May 19, 2012 at Windsor Gardens. She was born on August 6, 1925 in Paitzkofen, Bavaria Germany.

Betty was a Teacher's Aide with the Salinas Elementary School District for 20 years.

She did volunteer work for 30 plus years with the Chamber of Commerce participating on the Military Affairs and Agriculture committees. She was also involved with the Catholic Daughters for many years and with the PTA during the 1960's and 1970's.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Rosann F. Caniglia in 2005.

Betty is survived by her Husband; Harold W. Swiekatowski, Son; Steve James of Seattle, WA. Grandchildren; Sarah James of Glendale, CA, Steven James of Seattle, WA, Justin Caniglia of Salinas, Jenna Caniglia of Salinas, Niece Anna Marie of Germany, Nephew Max Bachl of Germany.

Betty and Harold celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in March 2012

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas, CA 93901.

Rosary will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 5:00 pm at the Struve and Laporte Chapel.

Funeral Mass will take place Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 10:00 am in the Madonna del Sasso Church, 320 E. Laurel Drive, Salinas, CA 93906

Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, CA , 93907.
