Arthur is preceded in death by his beloved wife Marianne, and brother, Gilbert. Arthur was born in Oakland, California, attended Fremont Senior High, and after enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1946, served in World War II before being stationed in Germany, where he met his love and future wife Marianne. He went on to serve in the Korean War before retiring in 1968, and spent his civilian career as a supervisor at the Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency in Marina, California until 1993. 'Grandpa' Art to many, he was a gifted gardener, and skilled craftsman, whose love for woodworking brought joy to all that knew him.
Arthur is survived his daughters, Annemarie (& Bob Bryant) and Dianna (& Nick Madronio); grandchildren Nichole Johnson, Richard Smith, Mia Perry, Kari Fowler, Arthur Hughes, Bobby Bryant, Stephanie Love, and Noah Madronio along with many great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
A Rosary service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, CA. 93901.
Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Our Lady of Refuge Church, 11140 Preston Street, Castroville, CA. 95012, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200
