Allen William Bengtson Jr. of Arroyo Seco. With much sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Allen William Bengtson Jr. on Dec. 3, 2017. Allen Jr. fought the battle of his life against stage four metastatic melonama after being diagnosed in April 2017. Allen Jr. aka Bingler, Bangler, or Banger to those who knew him, was born on August 23, 1984. He was just 33 when he died. Allen worked as a farmer at the time of his passing. He had an unrealized dream of tax accounting. Allen Jr. held many jobs over the years including cellar worker at Bernandus Winery, tax preparer for HR Block, baker at Splash Café, and lifeguard. Allen attended Greenfield Elementary School before graduating from Palma High School. He earned a B.S. degree in Agribusiness at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. While at Cal Poly SLO, Allen was a fraternity brother at Kappa Chi. Allen was a lifelong video gamer, a connoisseur of books and movies, playing board games with friends in Atascadero, drinking Guiness while watching 49ers games, throwing balls and sticks for his dog Taz and watching “Stranger Things.” He was a part of the Lockwood Valley Hunt Club and liked Salmon fishing with his dad. He had a very wry sense of humor, said few words but said volumes with expressive eyebrows and eye rolls. Preceded in death by grandparents Georgia and Clem Richardson Sr. and Frances and Lawrence Bengtson.
He is survived by parents Allen and Sheila Bengtson of Greenfield, sister Frances and Samantha Bengtson of Soledad; Aunts and Uncles Ruth Wilson, Alice and Howard Wilson, Jeanie Richardson, David Cunnigham, Clem and Barbara Richardson, Jean and Whitey Olson, and Lois and Art Sauer. Cousins Katrina, Sean, Laura, Stacey , Blaine, Amanda , Kelly , Polly, Jack, Cindy, Jodi, Todd, Laura, Mark and Michelle and Friends Matthew Johnson, Walker, Belinda, and Taz (Destroyer of Homes).
